April on the Drums in Tokyo!

Bio & Philosophy

My number one goal as a drummer is to support the band I'm playing with and there is no better way to do that then to 'be in the in the pocket.' The groove is everything! Space is critical - what you don't play is equally, if not more important, then what you do play! When I was young I used to fill every space, after all isn't that why the song has a break - to do a quick drum solo? (No) Drum fills do have an important place in songs, they add excitement and color, but they should be well placed and fit the song!
